Elizabeth Williams RMT
Elizabeth Williams is a Registered Massage Therapist. She graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2008, and became registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario at the beginning of 2009. During her massage therapy education Elizabeth participated in specialty clinics, including a neurological clinic for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and an outreach at Toronto General Hospital. She is a member of the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario.
Since joining the team at the Port Hope Health Centre in February of 2009, Elizabeth has developed a growing interest in working with athletes. She has taken numerous continuing education courses to increase her skillset in working with this demographic. From local charity events, to larger sporting events such as OFSAA Rugby and Wrestling, Elizabeth enjoys the community involvement that she participates in along side the other practitioners at the Port Hope Health Centre.
In 2013, Elizabeth completed her Sports First Responder certification (Canadian Red Cross). This allowed her to volunteer as head Massage Therapist during the 2014 Ontario Parasport Games. In the fall of 2014 she joined up with the Canadian Women’s National Sledge Hockey Team, and as part of the athletic support staff she holds the position of team Massage Therapist. Being a part of the very first IPC Women’s Sledge Hockey World Cup Championships has been a highlight in working with this incredible team.
In addition to working full time at the Port Hope Health Centre, Elizabeth is also currently studying part time to complete a B.A. with a joint major in Anthropology and Sociology from Trent University. She has a particular interest in courses related to health, sport, and the body.
